REFLECTIVE JOURNAL 1 QUESTIONS
2. Have your learning techniques, time management, and learning attitude been effective in this course? If yes, why do you say so? If not, why do you think so? (5 points)
My learning techniques have been effective in this course because I’ve learned how to communicate with my peers in class. I feel’s though the communication games we played in class and the speech my group presented in class his really give me a lot of confidents in speaking in front of people. Speaking in front of people ties into my time management in this class by taking the time to express my point across to my classmates rather if I give a speech or working together in groups. In the end after working together and learning, I feel like I have developed a learning attitude towards learning about my speech topic, and communicating well with others.
3. Are your instructor’s teaching style and approach , as well design of learning lessons and learning activities effective and able to help you learn and/or relearn things in speech communication? WHY do you think or say so? (5 points)
Ms. Magabo teaching style has been wonderful for past four weeks. She’s been great with the examples from her other classes. The power points are very helpful and cover’s all the material we cover in class. I like how her examples are videos from previous speech’s which show’s our the strength and weakness of a speech, so next time a classmate present he or she knows what to work on. The activities in our class really help out a lot in helping us communicate and feel comfortable talking to our peers and overcome nervousness. Overall I enjoy the class and hope to have a great year having Ms. Magabo as my speech teacher.
- What have you learned and/or re-learned in the last 4 weeks of our sessions? (Specifically identify the concepts, principles, and skills in public speaking that you have learned and/or re-learned). (15 Points)

Reflection 2
1. What have learned after you delivered, watched and evaluated other student speeches?
What I learned after I delivered my speech was to cite all my sources in my slides, because if I didn’t, would cause a major decrease in my grade. I haven’t really seen myself on video yet, but I know I need improvement in some area’s in my speech. I feel as though as a class everybody did a good job, although there are some flaws that included a failure to cite sources, and reading off our power point, it help gain a good idea of what I can work on in presenting my persuasive speech.
2. Who’s informative speech stands out the most? Why you think so?
The speech I believed that stands out the most in our class was Karah’s speech on woman’s rights. The reason why her speech was stand out to me was because she was very confident about her topic, she knew what she was talking about, Karah had a great source of information and lastly I felt well informed about women’s rights when Karah presented to the class.
3. Who’s amongst your classmates have shown strong leadership skills?
The classmate that showed the strong leadership skills was Chris Hammel because I liked has topic on student dropouts. The reason why I choose Chris is because it’s important to inform students not to drop out of school. 4. Who amongst your classmates have shown great collaboration skills?
The greatest collaboration skills in our class would be Carmen because I liked her speech on woman abuse. She worked very well presentation, her slides were clear and to the point and really enjoy her video, that why I chose her because of her great collaboration skills.
5. Whose evaualtions from your classmates you’ve found most helpful for you and for everyone else? WHY?
The evaluation I found most help to me was from Carman, she stated I need to cite sources in my power point and also mention them as I go along in my speech. I found that helpful to me because I it’s a weakness I needed to work in order to do well on my speeches. Another comment from her was to take my time meaning going through my power point slowly and try to master the topic I’m working so I won’t have to look at the power point while presenting.
